From Page to Presence
From Page to Presence is a four-week eGroup journey designed to help people rediscover the Bible not just as something to read, but as a place to meet God.
It’s a shift from obligation to opportunity — from “I should read my Bible” to “I get to encounter God through His Word.”
Week by week, the study guides will provide people with simple tools and practical steps to understand Scripture, read it with confidence, and allow it to shape everyday decisions. The goal isn’t knowledge for its own sake, but transformation: starting with the page, growing in understanding, and ultimately encountering the living presence of God through His Word.

WEEK 1 — Why Read the Bible?
One-phrase summary: Beyond obligation — Scripture is relational, and shapes our whole life.
As a leader, pray that people would experience a fresh desire for God — not pressure — and that Scripture would feel like an invitation, not a duty.
Discussion
Q1: Take a moment to share honestly what your experience with Bible reading has been so far. For some, that may feel unfamiliar or inconsistent; for others, it may have been shaped by duty, obligation, or a growing sense of relationship.
Q2: Where do you sense God inviting you to let His Word shape you more deeply in this season of your life? This could be in areas such as family, work, decisions, relationships, or faith…
Q3 - According to Scripture, what does God make available to us through His Word—things like hope, wisdom, salvation, or life—and how does believing that shape the way we engage with the Bible?
Challenge
Before we close, I would like to invite us to a simple challenge for this week.
Not something heavy. Not something to perform.
Let’s commit to reading at least one chapter of the Bible each day.
It doesn’t have to be long, and it doesn’t have to be perfect.
The goal isn’t pressure — it’s presence.
As a group, we can choose one book of the Bible and journey through it together, one chapter at a time.
We’re not doing this to impress God or prove anything.
We’re doing it to create space to meet Him — and we’re doing it together.
Next time we meet, we’ll take a moment to check in with one another — not to measure success or failure, but to encourage each other, share what stood out, and keep growing.
If you miss a day, don’t quit. Just pick it up again.
This is about building a rhythm, not carrying a burden.
Guided Prayer
“Lord, give us a fresh love for Your Word. Remove pressure, shame, and performance. Help us meet You as we read. Shape our decisions, our homes, and our faith through Scripture. Amen.”
WEEK 2 — Why Read the Bible?
Beyond obligation — Scripture is relational, and shapes our whole life.
Pray for confidence and curiosity. Ask God to remove intimidation and replace it with hunger to discover His Word.
Spend a couple of minutes before playing this week's content and listen to people's experiences with their Bible Reading.
Discussion
Q1 - How do you deal with the tension of not understanding everything you read in the Bible — especially in the moment? What helps you stay engaged instead of discouraged?
Q2 - In this season, what has God been using in His Word to reveal something new about His love or His presence to you personally?
Q3 - What decisions have you made — or would like to make — about going deeper in the Word of God? This could relate to your routine, the resources you use, or the people around you who help you engage Scripture.
Challenge
As we close today, I invite you to focus on something simple this coming week.
As you read the Bible, open your eyes and your heart to what God may want to show you through Scripture.
There’s no rush and no pressure — just attentiveness.
As you read, pay attention to one verse that stands out or that you sense God gently prompting you with.
You don’t need to understand it fully or explain it — just notice it.
Take note of that verse during the week, and when we meet again, be ready to briefly share the verse with your eGroup and what caught your attention.
This isn’t about having the right answer. It’s about learning to listen — together.
Guided Prayer
“Holy Spirit, open our eyes as we read. Replace confusion with confidence. Teach us to love the journey of discovery, and help us read with context, humility, and faith. Amen.”
WEEK 3 — How to Read the Bible (Simple Approaches)
Experiencing a repeatable method: understand the passage, then respond to it.
Pray that people would feel empowered — that the Bible would feel accessible, and that God would speak personally through Scripture.
Spend a couple of minutes before playing this week's content, giving people the chance to share the verses from the last seven days' Bible reading that they sensed God gently prompting them with.
Discussion
Q1 - Why do you think we sometimes jump to application before fully understanding what a passage is saying? What problems can that create?
Q2 - Let’s Put It Into Practice
Take a moment and carefully read John 3:16–17 (NIV).
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
As you reflect, stay only within these two verses.
Resist the urge to jump to other passages or assumptions.
Now consider the following questions. You don’t need to find something new or profound — just be honest about what you see.
- What do these verses reveal about God — His character, His heart, or His intentions?
- What do these verses reveal about us/me — my condition, my need, or my response to God?
- In light of what I see here, what is one response I can make — in belief, attitude, or action?
Note: In this episode, we have only 2 breaks to give people more time to discuss the 3 questions about the verse.
Challenge
As we close today, I invite you to practise something simple this week.
This week, the focus is on getting familiar with journaling — not doing it perfectly, just trying it.
As you read, choose one verse or short passage that stands out to you.
Take a piece of paper or a notebook and write it down.
Then, simply answer these three questions:
– What does this reveal about God?
– What does this reveal about me?
– What can I do about it?
There’s no pressure to write a lot. A few honest lines are enough.
This isn’t about spiritual performance — it’s about creating space for God’s Word to speak and shape us.
Next time we meet, we’ll have an opportunity to share what that experience was like, not to compare notes, but to encourage one another.
Guided Prayer
“God, thank You that Your Word is living and personal. Help us not rush to conclusions, but to listen well. Give us understanding and courage to respond in faith and obedience. Amen.”
WEEK 4 — Building the Habit
Sustainable rhythms — small daily consistency, led by the Holy Spirit.
Pray for confidence and curiosity. Ask God to remove intimidation and replace it with hunger to discover His Word.
Spend a couple of minutes before playing this week's content to listen to people's experiences with their Bible Journaling, which was last week's challenge.
Discussion
Q1 - Would you agree that sometimes we overestimate what we can do in the short term and underestimate what we can do long term? How does that apply to our Bible reading and devotion moments?
Q2 - What would a realistic, grace-filled rhythm of Scripture look like for you in everyday life — not at your best, but in your normal week?
Q3 - What small change could you make in your Bible reading time that would create more space for the Holy Spirit to speak and minister to you?
Testimonies
As you look back over the past few weeks, have you noticed anything shift in your life regarding your devotional time or Bible reading?
Share with your eGroup how God has been working or shaping your approach during this series.
Guided Prayer
“Holy Spirit, help us build a rhythm that lasts. Give us hunger, consistency, and joy in Your Word. Open our eyes, shape our lives, and lead us from the page into Your presence. Amen.”
