On Wednesday 12th November we have an exciting EQ Business Gathering planned for you with “Nick”, who is a Deputy Director-General at the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS). Nick will discuss navigating a career in national security whilst balancing leadership, faith, and challenges at home.
NZSIS is NZ’s domestic Security intelligence agency, which detects, investigates, assesses, and deters threats to national security. Its impacts include countering violent extremism and terrorism, countering foreign interference and espionage, as well as contributing to a secure, prosperous and resilient Pacific region.
Although there’s a lot Nick won’t be able to talk about, he can talk about some of the work of NZSIS, a bit about his career, lessons he has learnt about leading teams in a complex environment, as well as dealing with some major family challenges at home, and the importance of faith through all of this.
Nick has been a career intelligence officer with the NZSIS for over 20 years, serving in a variety of investigative, operational, and leadership roles. He’s a person of faith, and his story is one I’m sure you’ll connect with.
