The Yoke
“It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.”
Jesus tells you to take His yoke upon you… for His yoke is easy, and his burden light. If you will carry the yoke of Jesus, He promised you would learn from Him and find rest for your soul.
Unfortunately, the enemy tricks us, and the load we begin to carry becomes a yoke of distress and bondage.
“The yoke” in our verse today in Isaiah 10:27 refers to bondage that a believer is experiencing. And the “anointing” is the power of the Holy Spirit.
There are yokes we are living with. Maybe you wonder why you can't get ahead or why everything is a struggle. Poverty, lack, and barely getting by are a yoke. Negative words that were spoken over you become a yoke when they cause you to shrink back. The yoke may be worry, or depression.
It is something that limits you, something that pulls you back, something hindering you from doing what God wants you to do.
Is your load so heavy you can scarcely breathe; does it seem to be taking the very life out of you? If the answer is yes, know that the anointing and the power of God can break that yoke for you.
Down through the ages, and right throughout the Bible, God has proven Himself as a yoke breaker.
When we find ourselves bound or oppressed by the enemy, we simply need to feed our spirits the Word day and night… even when it gets hard… especially when it gets hard... we continue in worship and praise and prayer and communion, and little by little, we get so healthy and strong that suddenly the yoke of oppression has to burst. The anointing (the power of the Holy Spirit) destroys the yoke!
This is the freedom Jesus offers you.
What commitments are you going to make in 2024 to feed your spirit?
